Scholarship Program Afghanistan
Selection Process
Our selection process is an important part of our scholarship program in Afghanistan. Only if we can choose good scholars we are able to accomplish the desired effects of multiplicating the effect to more people than just the scholar. Therefore we start a public announcement beginning in December 2010.
Because Afghanistan is a multiethnic state we want to show the diversity of the ethnic groups also in our scholarship program and we will therefore enable people from different ethnic groups. Also the equal rights of women are important to us and we will thus establish a contingent of women.
The selection process is partly done through internet, because our scholars also need internet access in the course of their studies to get the materials provided by AGMC. Of course there will also be a direct contact between potential scholars and our staff in Afghanistan.
We choose not only based on the personal competences and individual motivation, but also based on social factors. Our goal is to support young people who could not have afford to study on their own.
The selection of the scholars in completely base on the judgement of "Studying without Borders".
Scholar Mentoring
We will provide support to our scholars in all relevant questions. We also want to provide a professional discussion between German and Afghan students. We want to achieve a cultural and professional exchange and improvement for both sides by this. Additionally we are the contact person for the scholars for questions regarding their social project and we request regular reports by our scholar about their progress.
