The region lacks qualified on-site helpers
Even though the redevelopment of Chechnya is in progress, there are barely any opportunities for young people to take part in a rebuilding which would live up to their own ideas of a new Chechnya. This is due to deficient equipment and the ongoing corruption within the university's administration, which severely restrains its students' studies.

Our approach: Studying in Germany
Through our scholarship program, we seek to offer Chechen students the opportunity to obtain a German university degree. During their studies in Germany, they prepare a project which aims to support the redevelopment of their home country’s society and culture. This project will be realized after their graduation.

Promising students from Chechnya receive scholarships which enable them to fund their entire stay in Germany, including preparatory language courses. Furthermore, the students benefit from intensive mentoring and support throughout their stay.

The first step is taken
In summer 2008, we welcomed the first generation of Chechen scholarship holders to Germany. We are currently hosting two scholars from Chechnya, Ada and Zalina.
