Scholarship Program

„Studies Without Borders“ aims in supporting young people in crisis regions who are making a positive impact in their society. Therefore, “Studies Without Borders“ awards scholarships to motivated and gifted young Chechens, who would like to study in Germany in order to acquire the skills they need for improving their social engagement.
In addition to the academic qualifications of our scholars, a crucial factor in our selection criterion, is the design and development of social projects and ideas, which in the long term will contribute to the development of Chechnya.

The scholarship covers the living expenses of the recipient, as well as all costs incurred for language courses and university during the duration of their one year stay. Furthermore, the scholars are supported in searching for internships and further training opportunities in the NGO area. As a result, the scholars shall acquire useful competences in order to realise their planned project in their country.

If the scholarship recipient decides to stay in Germany for a full degree and meets all the requirements for such a degree, „Studies Without Borders“ will support the recipient in the search for further financial support.

  The Right Motivation Plays an Important Role

  Decisive in the selection criterion are previous career, maturity, the motivation and above all, the ideas and suggestions for a possible project, with which the applicants wants to contribute to the development of Chechnya.

  Previous social commitment is a crucial indicator to estimate the motivation and willingness of the applicant.

  Entry to Germany Requires Logistics

  In order to guarantee the scholarship holders a visa to Germany, we need to preregister them at the university, provide accomodation, get all the necessary insurance and prove that the required amount of 7,020 Euros per student per year can be provided. We receive support from universities to manage this.

  Staying in Germany as a Scholar

  During the one year stay the members of “Studies without borders” support the scholars especially in the initial phase in Germany. Thus, we guarantee extensive support in the development and realisation of the projects. The commitment to a common goal leads to an exchange of ideas that overcomes cultural boundaries and is beneficial for both sides.

  The Implementation of the Project Requires Practical Experience

  We organise professional support in the development of the proposed projects. This includes suitable internships, through which the scholarship holders can gain practical experience and a network of contacts which will be necessary for the implementation of their projects.

  Before and during the stay of the scholarship holders in Germany, we work closely with university institutions, language schools and many other partners to ensure the best possible education in response to the individual strengths and needs of the recipients. The goal is to make the stay successful for the scholarship holders and help them make an important contribution to the development of their country.
